A tunnel and a road junction in east London are closed due to flooding caused by rain, the road transport police of the British capital said.

Heavy rain with a thunderstorm began in London in the afternoon.

“We are currently dealing with numerous flooding in the east; the Greenman tunnel is currently closed. Please avoid this area and be careful on nearby roads, the Redbridge roundabout is also flooded,” the police said in a message on Twitter.

In addition, the London Traffic Police reported the closure of the A 12 road leading to the north and the flooding of metro stations. London firefighters are involved in eliminating the consequences of the rain.

The London Fire Service informs about 300 requests for help in connection with flooding.
