The Governor of the southern Mexican state of Oaxaca, Alejandro Murat, where the epicenter of the 7.5-magnitude earthquake was located, reported a second death as a result of the disaster.
“There is information about two people who died as a result of the earthquake, we continue to assess the damage in hospitals in the region, especially in Huatulco, where the epicenter was located,” Murat said in his microblog on Twitter.

A strong earthquake struck southern Mexico on Tuesday. According to various sources, the magnitude ranged from 7.1 to 7.7. The epicenter of the tremors was located 23 kilometers south of the city of Crucecita in Oaxaca, where damage was caused to several buildings.
