At the same time, municipal authorities, as well as business owners, may still require the mandatory wearing of masks.
The state of New York has been abolishing the requirement to wear masks indoors since February 11. This was announced on Wednesday by New York Governor Kathy Hochul on Twitter.
“The situation is not the same as it was at the beginning of December. The actions of New Yorkers were correct; they helped us get through the winter surge in morbidity. Starting tomorrow, we will cancel the requirement for enterprises, which prescribed that it was necessary to wear a mask or present a vaccination certificate inside the premises,” she said.
At the same time, municipal authorities, as well as business owners, may still require the mandatory wearing of masks. In schools, the wearing of masks is still mandatory.
Over the past year, although the requirement to wear masks in the summer was canceled even at the federal level, in New York, the administration of most residential complexes, office buildings, shops and various institutions insisted on their mandatory wearing.
This week, five states announced the easing of the mask regime – New Jersey, Delaware, California, Connecticut and Oregon.
