French National Police officers used tear gas at a demonstration against mandatory coronavirus vaccination and sanitary passes in Paris.

Law enforcement officers are trying to restrain the crowd; sometimes, there are skirmishes.

The demonstration is organized by the head of the Patriots party, Florian Philippot. He called on supporters to gather at the Montparnasse train station and proceed to the French Ministry of Health building.

The prefecture of the metropolitan Police is afraid of possible riots during the upcoming demonstrations. In total, according to the French Interior Ministry, about 160 thousand people will take to the streets of the cities on Saturday.

On July 28, the official representative of the French government, Gabriel Attal, said that the authorities expect to approve the sanitary pass from August 9 officially. At the same time, he expressed hope that the pass could be abolished in mid-November. The relevant bill has already been approved by both houses of Parliament and is currently being considered by the Constitutional Council.
