Syria condemns the attacks on Belarus and the US interference in the affairs of Minsk against the background of the incident with the Ryanair plane, the Syrian state TV channel Al-Ikhbariya reports, citing an official source in the Syrian Foreign Ministry.
“Syria strongly condemns the systematic attacks on the Republic of Belarus and interference in its affairs by the United States and its allies,” the source said.
The source added that Syria “expresses full solidarity with friendly Belarus and calls on the international community to put an end to the actions of the United States, which pose a serious threat to international peace and security.” Earlier, the White House said that the United States, in cooperation with the EU and other partners, is developing targeted sanctions against key representatives of the Belarusian authorities and intends to return the previously lifted sanctions against 9 Belarusian state-owned enterprises.
