At least one person was injured on Tuesday in a shooting at an elementary school in the city of Uvalde (Texas), the suspect barricaded himself in the building. This was reported by a correspondent of the Fox News channel with reference to the mayor of the city Don McLaughlin and representatives of the Department of Public Safety of the state.

“The shooting occurred at an elementary school in Uvalde Texas. The Texas Department of Public Safety and the Mayor of Uvalde Don McLaughlin told me that one person was injured, the shooter ran into the [building] of the school. The department <…> says that the shooter barricaded himself in the school,” journalist Bill Melludzhin wrote on Twitter.
