Back in 2017, French intelligence warned its American colleagues about the danger that could come from the Wuhan Institute of Virology. According to politicians interviewed by Fox News, this may be another confirmation of the laboratory origin of the coronavirus.

According to the US State Department, the concerns were caused by problems with biological safety in the Wuhan laboratory. At the same time, representatives of the department do not specify what exactly the French intelligence found in China.

Paris helped Beijing set up a high-tech laboratory to study viruses in 2004. After that, France controlled the work of the institution in the context of research, but in 2017 the Chinese kicked the French out of the project.

In the United States, the opinion about the laboratory origin of SARS-CoV has been repeatedly expressed-2. This possibility is not excluded by representatives of the CIA and senior officials in the administration of President Joe Biden, including the president’s national security adviser Jake Sullivan.

At the same time, the Chinese side denies such assumptions. In particular, the Wuhan Institute of Virology representatives indicate that until December 31, 2019, the institution did not study the virus and did not encounter it.
