A robot has appeared at the Philadelphia airport that delivers food to travelers waiting to board a flight, UPI reports.

During the pandemic, a new employee, the robot Gita, appeared in the air harbor of the sixth-largest city in the country. As an experiment, a small “truck” delivers the food ordered by tourists from the airport catering establishments directly to the waiting place for the flight.

The robot uses Bluetooth to take an order in a special app and bring it to the customer.

“Now more than ever, we are committed to using innovative solutions for contactless delivery,” said Megan O’Connell, the airport’s head of marketing. “Gita allows guests to choose whether they want to go to a cafe or are ready to get food with new technologies.”

In social networks, users compare the robot with the character of ‘Star Wars.’ The experiment will last until April.
