In the Washington metro, a train derailed

The train derailed near the Washington metro station “Arlington Cemetery” on the blue line. The Washington Transportation Authority reported this.

“Delays are expected for trains in both directions [on the Blue Line] due to a derailment of a train near the Arlington Cemetery,” the department said in a Twitter message.

According to the local branch of the NBC television channel, passengers spent more than an hour on the train. Firefighters are working at the scene; they will take people out of the station. At the moment, information about the victims has not been received.

It is not yet known what caused the accident.
