Indonesian Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati is in Washington to attend a meeting of G20 finance ministers.

The finance ministers of Indonesia and the United States have agreed to cooperate in the field of joint financing of the healthcare system and the global energy transition. Indonesian Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati wrote about this on her Instagram page on Wednesday.

“U.S. Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen and I discussed [in Washington] the dynamics of the development and recovery of the global economy after the coronavirus pandemic, as well as against the backdrop of geopolitical changes,” the official said.

“Indonesia and the United States have agreed on the need to share commitments on financing the fight against the effects of climate change, including on the energy transition, as well as in the development of a global health architecture that provides for preparation for possible new pandemics in the future,” Sri Mulyani said.

The Indonesian Finance Minister is in Washington to attend a meeting of G20 finance ministers, where Indonesia is chairing this year.
