The company noted that they are working to support their employees.
The American company Intel, which is one of the leading suppliers of microprocessors, suspends its activities in Russia due to the situation around Ukraine. This was announced by the company’s press service.
“From now on, we have suspended all business activities in Russia,” the company’s website says.
Intel added that “they are working to support their employees, including 1-2 thousand employees in Russia.” In early March, the company announced the suspension of deliveries of its products to Russia and Belarus.
Founded in 1968, Intel manufactures electronic devices and computer components, including microprocessors. Since last year, the world has been facing a shortage of semiconductors, which is associated with a sharply increased demand for these products due to the transfer of mobile communications in many countries to fifth-generation systems. In the context of the pandemic and the expansion of work on remote schemes, the production of personal computers and game consoles has also increased.
