The Defense Ministry of the Republic said that the new system is able to detect various targets, including military aircraft and drones, within a radius of 150 km and track them at a distance of 120 km.

The Ministry of defense of Iran presented on Sunday its air defense system, capable of hitting several targets with missiles of its own production “Sayad-3”. The ceremony, on which was the Minister of defense of the country Amir Khatami, was held in Tehran.

The air defense system “Khordad-15” was developed by experts of the Iranian Defense Ministry and officially transferred to the forces of the Iranian army.

Khatami said that the new system is capable of detecting various targets, including military aircraft and drones, within a radius of 150 km and tracking them at a distance of 120 km. He added that Iranian development is also able to detect hidden targets within a radius of 85 km and hit it at a distance of 45 km.

According to the Minister, the system is able to intercept simultaneously six targets, and the ease of operation allows the military to prepare air defense to defeat targets in less than five minutes.

The Iranian side argues that the military power of technological innovation does not pose a threat to the countries of the region since the defense doctrine of the Islamic Republic of Iran is based solely on deterrence.
