Tehran will only negotiate with Washington within the framework of the nuclear deal, and when paying compensation for the damage caused, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani said.
“We are always ready to negotiate, but as soon as the US will say that resume (international) law, declared that the return to the implementation of UN resolutions and its commitments under the Joint comprehensive plan of action, going back to “six,” said Rouhani.
“Our position is simple – they (the US) must comply with the law, apologize and compensate for the damage they caused to Iran, pay compensation,” the President said, whose speech was broadcast by Iranian television.
Earlier, Rouhani said that Iran was losing about $ 50 billion due to US sanctions, which is comparable to two budgets last year.
In 2015, the “six” (Britain, Germany, China, Russia, the United States, France) and Iran announced the achievement of a Joint comprehensive plan of action. The agreement called for the lifting of sanctions in exchange for limiting Iran’s nuclear program. The deal in its original form did not last three years: in May 2018, the US announced a unilateral withdrawal from it and the restoration of strict sanctions against the Islamic Republic. Iran has announced a reduction in its obligations under the agreement.
