Japan has imposed additional sanctions against 398 people and 28 organizations from Russia in connection with its armed invasion of Ukraine.

This is reported in the statement of the Japanese Foreign Ministry.

In particular, State Duma deputies, Commander-in-Chief of the Russian Navy Nikolai Evmenov, Commander-in-Chief of the Ground Forces Oleg Salyukov, Air Force Commander Sergei Dronov, as well as, allegedly, the wife and daughter of Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and the daughter of Russian President Vladimir Putin were sanctioned.

In addition, the assets of Sberbank and Alfa-Bank are being frozen, and a ban on new investments in the Russian Federation has been introduced, which from May 12 can only be carried out with special permits.
