According to The Hollywood Reporter, Jennifer Lopez and Armie Hammer have been cast as the lead roles in the action-comedy Shotgun Wedding, which is produced by Lionsgate. The film is directed by Jason Moore, while Elizabeth Meriwether and Mark Hammer will write the script. Filming is expected to begin early next year.
Shotgun Wedding tells the story of Darcy (Lopez) and Tom (Hammer), who are preparing for the wedding, where their beloved but stubborn and wayward relatives should gather. Despite all the preparations, shortly before the ceremony, the couple becomes very nervous, which jeopardizes the entire event. But that’s not all. The tension of the situation is aggravated to the extreme by the fact that some armed people burst into the party and take everyone present hostage.
The film will be produced by Todd Lieberman and David Hoberman of Mandeville, along with Lopez as Nuyorican Productions. Interestingly, along with George Dewey, Ryan Reynolds, who previously claimed a place in the cast, will be the executive producer of the film.
