American film director, stuntman, and former understudy of Keanu Reeves in The Matrix, Chad Stahelsky, who subsequently directed three films about John Wick with an actor in the title role, told THR about working with Lana Wachowski on the fourth part of the franchise. The director, who helped Lana with the development of some scenes, noted:
“Lana is one of the most talented people I’ve worked with. She’s fantastic. A terrific director who loves her work.”
Stahelski specified that Wachowski always knows exactly which one he wants to see a particular scene in the film. He explained:
Lana usually says: “Here is a hero, this is what should happen to him. Here is the conflict. And this is where the character should be emotionally, psychologically and in terms of the plot at the end of the take. Now the question is: what tricks can you offer to make it stunning? ” And then stuntmen and choreographers come into action.
The stuntman and director called the work with Wachowski “in a good and difficult way.” “She’s one of those great people who, having heard your idea, say:“ Wow, this is cool. I didn’t think of that. But what if we still have to take this and do it like that? ”Stachelski said. He also emphasized when speaking about the new “Matrix” that fans of the original trilogy will surely like the film. “If you like the trilogy, you will like what Lana is doing now. She’s smart, funny and knows what the fans want. ”
The first part of The Matrix was released in 1999, followed by sequels – The Matrix: Reloaded and The Matrix: Revolution. The paintings told about the struggle of survivors in the battle with intelligent machines of people after the death of human civilization.
In the summer of 2019, it became known about the filming of the fourth franchise film. The plot of the new tape is not reported. It is known that, in addition to the stars of the original paintings by Keanu Reeves and Carrie-Anne Moss, Neil Patrick Harris is also involved.
