Jordan warns Israel over Palestine

The Jordanian Foreign Ministry has sent a note of protest to Israel in connection with the actions of law enforcement officers to forcibly evict Palestinians in the Sheikh Jarrah district of East Jerusalem.

The Foreign Ministry pointed out the unacceptability of such actions.

“The Israeli Foreign Ministry has sent an official note of protest from the Jordanian government in connection with the attempts of the Israeli authorities to forcibly evict the residents of the Sheikh Jarrah district from their homes,” the Foreign Ministry said in a statement on its Twitter page.

The Jordanian Foreign Ministry warned Israel against further attacks on the Palestinians. The Foreign Ministry stressed that such steps by Israel violate international law.

The Jordanian Foreign Ministry referred to the Israeli authorities in East Jerusalem as an occupying force. The Foreign Ministry called for a halt to the attacks on the Al-Aqsa Mosque and worshippers.

In Israel, there have been several days of clashes between Palestinians and Israeli border police fighters. According to the Red Crescent, 205 Palestinians were wounded. The Israeli police report about 17 injured law enforcement officers. One of the stumbling blocks is the decision of the Israeli court in two districts of East Jerusalem to evict several Arab families-near the Temple Mount and in the Sheikh Jarrah quarter. Because of this, riots arose, which turned into clashes with the police.
