Former UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov admitted which of his rivals he did not want to “cripple” in the octagon.

The undefeated Russian singled out Americans Michael Johnson and Justin Gaethje, with whom he fought in 2016 and 2020, respectively.

“When I took Johnson on pain, I could have broken his arm. But I tried to do it carefully, because if the hand breaks in such situations, then it does not fully recover. I understood that. But Gaethje: I first went to the pain on the hand, and then to the triangle. I realized that he would not give up, and I did not want to hurt his hand. He had his parents in the front row, his father and mother. They looked at me when I went out,” Khabib said.

It should be noted that the fight against Gaethje in October last year was the last for Nurmagomedov in his professional career.
