The French company L’Oreal will remove the words “white” and “light” from the description of its skincare cosmetics, Reuters reports, citing a statement from a company representative.
Earlier, a similar decision was made by Unilever. And the American company Johnson & Johnson completely stopped selling creams that help make the skin tone lighter in Asia and the Middle East.
“L’Oreal Group understands the justified concern about the words used to describe products for skin tone equalization, and has decided to remove the words white/bleaching, light/lightning from all products,” the company’s statement is quoted by foreign media.
