President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko said that special attention at the talks with Russian leader Vladimir Putin in Sochi was paid to the question of the response to Western sanctions.

According to the newspaper, Lukashenko noted that Russia has long been experiencing sanctions pressure, Belarus “is now also trying to strangle.” In this regard, according to the Belarusian leader, it was decided to instruct the governments of both countries to jointly work out response measures.

“I ask you, Roman Alexandrovich (Golovchenko, Prime Minister of Belarus), not to delay the solution of this issue. All this should be reasonable, not in a rush, do not shoot yourself in the foot, in the arm, or even in the head,” Lukashenko stressed. In addition, the head of Belarus said that he discussed with Putin his upcoming meeting with US President Joe Biden. The leaders of the two countries also paid sufficient attention to the situation in Ukraine and exchanged views on the fight against the coronavirus pandemic.
