French President Emmanuel Macron has changed the blue color on the flag of France — now it is a darker shade. The decision was made “behind closed doors”: the president did not make this idea public before its implementation, writes France Bleu.

Such a blue color, according to the French authorities, looks better, inherits the flag of the Great French Revolution, and also looks more contrasting against the background of the EU flag, which often stands next to the French tricolor at official events.
