Maryland Governor Larry Hogan announced the dispatch of millions of dollars worth of aid to Odessa, including medical supplies and bulletproof vests.
The Maryland Department of Health has donated more than 485,000 bandages and wound treatments, 95 Eternity ventilators for intensive care units and 50 portable Astral ventilators, the governor’s office said.
The aid package also includes about 200 personal protective equipment, including tactical body armor and shields donated by the Maryland State Police.
Odessa is a sister city of Baltimore. On Tuesday, the Russian military struck this port city, Ukrainian authorities said, in an apparent attempt to disrupt supply lines and disrupt the supply of Western weapons critical to Kyiv’s defense.
