The Irish fighter of the Absolute Fighting Championship (UFC) Conor McGregor in the microblog on Twitter said that he successfully underwent surgery on a leg broken in a fight with American Dustin Poirier.

The fight between Poirier and McGregor in the framework of the UFC 264 tournament in Las Vegas took place on Saturday and ended with the victory of the American by technical knockout. At the end of the first round, the Irishman stumbled and broke his left leg. McGregor was unable to continue the fight; he left the arena on a stretcher.

“I just got out of the operating room. Everything went well, I feel great. Then six weeks on crutches and coming back,” the 32-year-old Irishman wrote.

According to the fighter’s manager, Audie Attar, McGregor underwent a three-hour operation, as a result of which fractures of the tibia and fibula were eliminated. “The doctors are sure that he will fully recover over time. We are waiting for his return to the octagon,” Attar said on Twitter.
