44 percent of Americans approve of the President’s activities.
The rating of President Donald Trump rose to a record level for the entire time of his presidency – this is evidenced by the latest survey conducted by the Washington Post and the ABC News channel.
According to the survey, 44 percent of Americans approve of the President’s work, and 53 percent disapprovingly. Thus, the rating of the President increased by 5 percent compared to April, when his activities were positively evaluated by 39 percent of respondents.
The survey, the results of which were published on Sunday, showed that improving the rating of Trump contributes to public satisfaction with the state of the economy. 51 percent of respondents are satisfied with Trump’s economic policy, 42 percent are dissatisfied. Approximately 47 percent believe that Trump is largely or partially responsible for strengthening the economy, while 48 percent believe that there is little or almost no merit in it. At the same time, 65 percent of respondents noted that Trump’s behavior does not meet the standards of the presidential post, and 28 percent consider his behavior “appropriate and correct.”
At the moment, 59 percent of Americans oppose the launch of impeachment proceedings against Trump. This figure increased by 13 percent compared to August last year. 37 percent are in favor of impeachment.
As noted by the American media, Trump’s rating is lower than the rating of the leading presidential candidate from the Democratic Party, former Vice President Joe Biden. The survey showed that among all categories of respondents Biden ahead of Trump by 14 percent (55 percent against 41). Among the registered voters, Trump lags behind Biden by 10 percent (43 vs. 53). Trump is closer in performance to the other candidates-Democrats, including the Senator from California Kamala Harris, Senator from Vermont Bernie Sanders, the Senator from Massachusetts Elizabeth Warren and the mayor of the city of South Bend, Indiana, Pete Buttigieg. However, according to the survey, when it comes to assessing the policy of all Americans, the President is inferior in popularity to each of these candidates.
