Microsoft has announced that it will launch the 2021 version of Microsoft Office on October 5. The launch time for the new version of Microsoft Office coincides with the launch of Windows 11, which will also take place on October 5th.
For those who don’t know, instead of the cloud-based experience found in Microsoft 365, Office 2021 offers Office apps after a one-time purchase at a fixed price.
In addition, Microsoft announced the availability of the Microsoft Office LTSC, or Long Term Servicing Channel, for macOS and Windows. In case you’re wondering, LTSC is the enterprise-focused version of Office 2021 available to both government and commercial customers.
LTSC will bring features like XLOOKUP to Excel, dynamic arrays, dark mode across all applications, and improvements to Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word. Also included is a Microsoft Teams client.
Microsoft will release Windows 11 on October 5 as the next generation OS for PCs and laptops. Windows 11 will include a new taskbar user interface and many improvements. Support for Android apps is also coming soon.
