At least 34 thousand American citizens living in the state of Illinois, on Monday night, faced a power outage in several counties due to the cyclone that hit the state. This was reported by NBC concerning data from the electricity supplier Commonwealth Edison.
According to the broadcaster, the largest outages are observed in the Du Page district, where more than 14 thousand residents lost electricity, as well as in Cook County with indicators of 13 thousand.
As explained by NBC, in this area on Sunday evening, the effects of a powerful cyclone were recorded, in particular gusty winds and tornadoes. It is noted that as a result of at least one tornado in the area of the village of Woodridge, structures, and transmission lines were seriously damaged.
