The German police recorded the arrival of 5,300 refugees from Ukraine in the country, but there may be significantly more, said the representative of the German Interior Ministry Maximilian Kall.

“I can inform you that the federal police recorded the arrival of 5,309 refugees from Ukraine,” he said at a briefing on Wednesday.

He added that since the borders within the EU are open, “there is a possibility that much more have arrived, but not on the same scale as is recorded in neighboring countries – Poland, Romania, Bulgaria, Slovakia.”
