What is the threat of climate change for the British capital?
An interactive map created by specialists of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) shows in detail which parts of the world may be affected by sea-level rise in the coming years with different trajectories of emissions into the atmosphere. According to the agency, some areas of London may go underwater as early as 2030.
These areas will face frequent flooding and may even be regularly submerged underwater, writes The Independent. At the same time, not only the United Kingdom but also other countries will be at risk. Thus, climate change can seriously impact residents of areas located within a radius of 100 km from the coast. This is especially true for residents of islands and low-lying states.
Some areas of England, including the British capital, were flooded after heavy rains on August 8. In recent weeks, this is the third natural disaster in the regions of the UK. In London, there was a failure in public transport operation; water completely flooded some streets.
