NATO is leaving the door open for dialogue with Russia while continuing to support Ukraine, U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken said on Friday.

“We will leave the door open for dialogue and diplomacy with Russia,” Blinken said at a press conference in Brussels. He added that the alliance is not looking for a military confrontation with Moscow, but is firmly committed to protecting “every inch” of its territory.

At the same time, the U.S. Secretary of State stressed that NATO will continue to provide assistance to Ukraine “in the coming days and weeks”, including in the humanitarian direction.
