The opposition politician urged to use the possibilities of social networks.

Russian opposition politician Alexei Navalny, who is serving a sentence in a penal colony in the Vladimir region, called on US President Joe Biden, British Prime Minister Boris Johnson, European politicians and heads of IT giants to “crush Putin’s propaganda using the capabilities of social networks.”

The politician published an appeal on Twitter, in which he stated that social services should show 200 million advertising messages to Russians every day in order to open an “information front” against Putin in this way.

“Truth and free information are hitting Putin’s insane regime no worse than Javelins,” Navalny said, noting that the cost of advertising on the Internet will be incomparably lower than military spending.

This money, the politician believes, could be spent, in particular, on advertising independent media blocked in Russia.

“The fact is that the majority of Russian citizens have a completely distorted idea of what is happening in Ukraine,” he wrote.
