How much would you pay for one of the fastest home wireless networks? More than you paid for your computer or phone? If so, Netgear has a solution.
The company unveiled what it claims is the first quad-band WiFi 6E networking system – Orbi Quad-band Mesh WiFi 6E. Paying an impressive $ 1,500 for a set of three, you get 10.8 Gbps total bandwidth on the 2.4 GHz, 5 GHz, and 6 GHz bands, plus passband to keep the main frequencies clear.
A set of three devices provides a maximum coverage area of about 800 sq. meters, and the WAN Ethernet port now supports speeds up to 10 Gbps. Consequently, more 2.5 Gbps Ethernet ports are available on the router and satellites to improve throughput for wired devices. You can create up to four separate WiFi networks, including a 6E only network, to keep new devices running at full speed.
The kit is available for pre-order now, and the delivery date is October 29th. Additional satellites are sold for $ 599. The amount is gigantic by any measure when it comes to WiFi equipment for home or office. It remains only to find an application for these possibilities.
