New sponsor for the Champions League. FedEx and Uefa have signed a three-year agreement under which FedEx will sponsor the Champions League for three editions, starting from the start of the 2021/22 competition until the end of the 2023/24 tournament. Sponsorship rights will include the Super Cup, Youth League Finals, Futsal Champions League Finals and eChampions League.
The agreement is based on an established relationship between FedEx and Uefa, which has resulted in FedEx being the main sponsor of the Europa League in 2015 and a National Team Football sponsor in 2019. In addition, FedEx will be the official logistics partner of EURO 2020, which will take place from next June in 12 European cities. In 2016, FedEx was also the first sponsor to start a collaboration with Uefa Foundation for Children to make football a tool capable of exerting a social impact and a positive influence on communities around the world. In addition to sponsoring the Europa League and EURO 2020, FedEx and the Uefa Foundation have built community soccer fields in Spain, Poland, Brazil and South Africa and launched the co-funded “Football for Employability” program to support young people in Romania, Hungary, England and Ireland. In addition, FedEx invited the children of the host cities to be the mascots of the players at the Europa League finals in collaboration with non-profit organizations in Stockholm (Sweden), Lyon (France) and Baku (Azerbaijan), where a delegation entirely women made the history of football.
“The global sponsorship of the Champions League will generate unparalleled opportunities for the brand, our team members, customers and communities. Brie Carere, Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing and Communications Officer of FedEx Corp. “We will continue to explore significant social responsibility partnerships with the Uefa Foundation for Children, just as we did with the sponsorship of the Europa League”
