“Post Trump, Putin becomes master of the world,” the caption says.

The American conservative magazine Newsmax placed on the cover of the December issue a photo of Russian President Vladimir Putin with a glass of champagne and the caption “after Trump, Putin becomes the master of the world.” The corresponding pictures of the magazine cover appeared on social networks, their authenticity was confirmed by the executive director of the magazine Ken Chandler on the air of the Newsmax TV channel, which is part of the same media structure as the print edition.

The issue is timed to coincide with the telephone conversations between the Presidents of Russia and the United States, Vladimir Putin and Joe Biden, which took place on Tuesday. The magazine and the TV channel of the same name, which are part of the same media structure of Newsmax Media, consistently support former U.S. President Donald Trump, who, on the eve and after Russian-American contacts, several times rated the ability of the current American president to conduct a dialogue with the Russian leader on equal terms.

Some American politicians have criticized the magazine for such a cover. A member of the U.S. House of Representatives, Republican from Illinois Adam Kinzinger called Newsmax “propaganda” on Twitter.
