Nokia has filed several patent infringement claims against China’s OPPO.

In 2018 Nokia and OPPO signed a licensing agreement. The dates were not named then, but they noted that it was many years old. It looks like the contract is now over. Nokia has made an official statement that OPPO has rejected the proposal to renew it, but it continues to use patents. Therefore, the company had to resort to legal assistance.

Nokia has numerous patent infringement complaints regarding SEP (meaning very significant) and non-SEP patents. They relate to connectivity, interface and security. Complaints are filed in the European and Asian markets.

At the same time, Nokia representatives believe that there is still a more constructive way to resolve the situation.

After all, Nokia has quite a few patents and has signed licensing agreements with Samsung, Apple, LG, Lenovo, and even Blackberry.
