Presumably we are talking about the launch of a ballistic missile.
North Korea launched an “unknown projectile,” which apparently fell immediately after launch.
Presumably, the missile was launched from an airfield near the capital of the DPRK – Pyongyang. This was stated by the Ministry of National Defense of South Korea.
Several previous missile launches were conducted from this airfield, including two launches – according to the United States and South Korea – of new intercontinental ballistic missiles. North Korea declared that these were tests of components of a reconnaissance satellite.
A source of the Japanese broadcasting company NHK in the Ministry of Defense of Japan said that it is about the launch of a ballistic missile.
North Korea has conducted an unprecedented number of missile launches this year.
