NVIDIA announced the GeForce RTX 3080 Ti GPU. It is twice as powerful as previous versions.
NVIDIA unveiled its latest GPU at the Computex virtual show in Taiwan. The GeForce RTX 3080 Ti is the company’s new flagship gaming card.
Traditionally for NVIDIA, the two new GPUs are slightly better than their counterparts last year. The RTX 3080 Ti features 12GB of GDDR6X memory – up from 10GB in the vanilla 3080 – and uses 10,240 CUDA cores (CPU). The previous model had 8,704 cores.
NVIDIA notes that the RTX 3080 Ti is 1.5 times faster than the 3080 in games and twice as fast in 3D graphics programs like Blender.
The company also improves the software. The new GPUs are ready to launch an artificial intelligence-based rendering engine – Deep Learning Super Sampling (DLSS). According to a press release, AI boosts frame rates at critical moments in games. It is noted that the new feature will appear in Doom Eternal, Red Dead Redemption 2, Rainbow Six Siege and Lego Builder’s Journey.
The GeForce RTX 3080 Ti will go on sale from June 3, starting at $ 1,199 US.
