The cost has reached the highest level since October 2014.

The price of oil in Japan against the background of events in Ukraine reached its highest level since October 2014 on Friday. At one point, it exceeded the mark of 66 thousand yen (more than $ 570) per kiloliter (6.289 barrels), according to trading data on the Tokyo Mercantile Exchange.

The price increase, Kyodo news agency reports, is due to concerns about a possible reduction in Russian oil supplies due to sanctions imposed by the United States, the European Union, Great Britain, Japan and a number of other countries against the Russian Federation. At the same time, the agency notes, the rise in price was not so large, since forecasts related to the disconnection of Russia from the international system of interbank payments SWIFT have not yet been justified.
