“Right before leaving for the service at the Hagia Sophia, His Holiness Patriarch Bartholomew felt unwell due to a long flight and a busy schedule after arriving [in the USA]. The doctor advised him to rest, as a precautionary measure, he was taken to the George Washington University Hospital for examination,” the report says.

Patriarch Bartholomew of Constantinople arrived in the United States on October 23; he is expected to stay in the United States until November 3.
