Poland and the United States signed an agreement on military cooperation

Washington and Warsaw signed an agreement on military cooperation, strengthening the American military presence in the republic.

On the American side, the signature was signed by Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, on the Polish side – by Minister of National Defense Mariusz Blaszczak.

The document continues the declaration of Presidents Andrzej Duda and Donald Trump, which they signed last year in Washington.

It provides, in particular, an increase in the number of the American military contingent per thousand employees, as well as the redeployment of the command of the Fifth Corps of the US Ground Forces to the republic.

There are currently about 5,000 American soldiers stationed in Poland.

When signing the document, Duda said that military cooperation between Poland and the United States “means increased security for our part of Europe”, in particular for the Baltic countries and Ukraine.
