Russian President Vladimir Putin “sees weakness” in his American counterpart Joe Biden when he talks about preventing cyber-attacks, according to former US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo.
“I am listening to President Biden’s speech and I am sure that Putin sees a weakness in him. He sees the president, who tells him: “Look, we have a list of 16 objects that cannot be touched,” leaving thousands of others that can potentially be attacked,” Pompeo said in an interview with Fox News.
According to him, the United States should convey to Russia that the response to any cyber-attacks “will be fast, serious and decisive.”
Last Friday, Putin and Biden spoke by phone. During the conversation, the American president stated the need for Russia to take measures to curb the activities of extortion groups.
