The main features of the new products are cameras. Let’s start with them. Both smartphones are equipped with a 50-megapixel main module with 23 mm EGF, f / 1.8 aperture and optical image stabilization. Also, each flagship received a 13-megapixel ultra-wide-angle unit with an aperture of f / 2.2, but the focal length is different – 16 mm for the younger model and 13 mm for the Pro version.
The Huawei P50 is the first non-Pro smartphone from the company to boast a periscope telephoto lens. It has a resolution of 12 megapixels, f / 3.4 aperture and optical stabilization, and a zoom ratio of 5x.
The Huawei P50 Pro is also equipped with a telephoto module, but only with 3.5x zoom. At the same time, the sensor resolution is increased to 64 megapixels, and the digital zoom ratio exceeds 10x (2700 mm). The fourth component of the camera is a 40-megapixel monochrome module with an equivalent focal length of 23 mm.
The older model received support for XD Fusion Pro technology, due to which the camera captures 28% more light compared to the Huawei P40 Pro. Both new products can shoot video in 4K UHD at 60 FPS and in Full HD at 960 FPS.
The Huawei P50 Pro is available in Kirin 9000 and Snapdragon 888 versions, both of which do not support 5G. The younger version will appear on the market exclusively with a Qualcomm mobile processor.
The flagships of the new generation are equipped with OLED screens. There’s a sub-screen biometric sensor, HDR support and a small hole for a 13MP front camera. The Huawei P50 Pro has a 6.6 ”curved panel with a resolution of 2700 x 1225 pixels and a refresh rate of 120 Hz. The Huawei P50 uses a flat, 90Hz Full HD + 6.5 ”diagonal sensor.
Of the total, we note stereo speakers, NFC, IP68 protection, HarmonyOS 2.0 operating system, 66-watt wired and 55-watt wireless charging. The battery capacity was 4360 mAh in the older model and 4100 mAh in the younger one.
Huawei P50 Pro will be available in versions with 8 GB of RAM and 128-512 GB of permanent memory. The cost was $ 930- $ 1160. Sales will begin on August 12th. Huawei P50 will hit the market in the fall in 8/128 GB and 8/256 GB configurations for $ 730 and $ 775, respectively.
