Prince William himself regrets the tough conversation with his brother, which served as the beginning of such a protracted conflict, according to royal experts Omid Scobie and Carolyn Durand in their new book “Finding Freedom.”
At the dawn of the relationship between Harry and Meghan Markle, the Duke of Cambridge expressed his concern that the romance of his brother and the actress was developing too quickly and said that Harry must be “blinded by lust,” the Express newspaper reports.
“There is no need to hurry. Spend as much time as you need to get to know this girl,” William then told his brother, according to royal biographers.
Prince Harry was terribly offended by the definition of his beloved as “this girl” and became enraged. He “was enraged,” the authors of the book say, and rudely shouted at his brother, using obscene language. After this quarrel, the conflict only intensified.
“When William, during a conversation with Harry, urged him to take his time, it was intended as a good intention, but the fraternal advice did not benefit Harry. He felt that he did not have support from his side, and this was really the beginning of the rupture of their strong brotherly bond, ” royal expert Katie Nicholl confirmed.
