Russian and Turkish Presidents Vladimir Putin and Tayyip Erdogan agreed during a telephone conversation on Sunday that the next round of talks between the Russian and Ukrainian delegations will be held in Istanbul.
“During the talks, the latest situation in the Russian-Ukrainian war and the negotiation process were discussed. President Erdogan and Russian President Vladimir Putin have agreed to hold the next meeting of the negotiating delegations of Russia and Ukraine in Istanbul,” the Turkish president’s office told reporters.
Erdogan also said that Ankara will continue to promote peace between Russia and Ukraine. “President Erdogan stressed the need to establish a truce and peace between Russia and Ukraine as soon as possible, as well as to improve the humanitarian situation in the region. He added that Turkey will continue to contribute to this process,” the office said.
