Xiaomi suddenly remembered the popular smartphone of the Redmi brand, announced two years ago, and released the Android 11 operating system for it.

Redmi Note 8T got a software update. So far, the update is being sent only to members of the Mi Pilot program. Moreover, as part of the MIUI 12 firmware, not MIUI 12.5. But we are talking about a stable global version. The update number is v12.0.2.0 RCXMIXM.

As a reminder, the smartphone entered the market with Android 9.0 Pie in early November 2019. Out of the box, it worked on the basis of the Android 9.0 Pie operating system, which formed the basis for the proprietary MIUI 12 firmware. The company, apparently, does not plan to update the shell yet.

Redmi Note 8T is the international copy of Redmi Note 8. The main difference is the appearance of the NFC chip. Also, the global version turned out to be a little heavier and more overall, but remained without modifications with 6 GB of RAM. Note that the Chinese Redmi Note 8 is already running MIUI 12.5.
