Google has released a new version of the OS for smart TVs – Android TV 12. The operating system is still available for software developers.
Google has made several changes over the previous version of the OS. For example, added the ability to display the system UI in 4K UHD without blurring. Programmers have expanded the ability to customize the appearance of the OS. The user can now change fonts and adjust the level of background blur depending on their own preferences.
A new option has appeared in the settings that allows you to activate the dynamic change of the frame rate. The TV will automatically change the frame rate by 24 FPS or 60 FPS depending on the content being played. Another innovation is support for HDMI CEC 2.0.
Naturally, they did not forget about safety. Android TV 12 introduces advanced privacy settings. The user will now see when the TV is using the camera or microphones. It is also possible to restrict applications access to these elements.
Android TV 12 for software developers was released on November 30, 2021. It is not known when the stable version of the operating system will be released.
