Congressman Ronny Jackson said that the American people deserve absolute confidence in the cognitive abilities of the president.

A group of Republican senators consisting of 37 lawmakers sent a letter to U.S. President Joe Biden, in which they urged him to undergo cognitive testing. As Fox News reported on Wednesday, the proposal followed the leader of the United States calling a representative of a media company a “son of a bitch.”

“My colleagues and I are asking President Biden to immediately take a formal cognitive screening test, such as the Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MoCA),” said Congressman Ronny Jackson, former chief White House physician under the administrations of Barack Obama and Donald Trump. – As a former doctor of three U.S. presidents, I know what is required of the commander-in-chief and the head of state mentally and physically to perform their duties.”

Jackson stressed that “the American people deserve absolute confidence in the cognitive abilities of the president,” and this testing will either confirm that Biden is suitable for his position, or it will reveal symptoms of “cognitive diseases such as Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s diseases, vascular dementia or multiple sclerosis.” In addition, the former congressman suggested that during a recent medical examination, the president “either did not pass a cognitive test, or his results were hidden from the public.”

On January 25, 2022, President Biden, apparently unaware that his microphone was on, called a Fox News correspondent a “son of a bitch” after he tried to ask him a question about inflation. The incident got into the broadcast of the meeting of the head of state with his economic advisers at the White House, which was conducted by American news broadcasters. The White House has not yet commented on the incident.

In November, Biden underwent a routine medical examination at the Walter Reed U.S. Navy Hospital in the metropolitan suburb of Bethesda (Maryland). It turned out that he feels quite well for his age – Biden turned 79 on November 20. According to his attending physician Kevin O’Connor, the president is healthy, active and able to successfully perform his duties. At the same time, his cough became more frequent and his gait became stiff – in this regard, he was recommended to undergo an additional examination.
