Despite the fact that the Twilight saga is far behind, and Robert Pattinson has played many different roles since then, the shadow of Edward Cullen still flickers around the actor. Pattinson will soon appear as Batman in Matt Reeves’ superhero noir of the same name. Needless to say, “Batman” and “Twilight” are completely different franchises, but Pattinson himself believes that these projects still have something in common. In a fresh interview with Total Film, the 34-year-old actor noted:
The feeling is somewhat different when you know that the film you are working on will be seen by a lot of people. In a strange way, I got a kick out of it while filming Twilight — the thought that I could ruin everything went along with me. I think I felt confident. I wanted to be on the big stage.
As you can see, participating in “Twilight” tempered Pattinson, so that he approaches one of the most significant characters in the history of the superhero genre without fear. Not every actor will cope with this responsibility, but there is every reason to believe that Pattinson will become a worthy successor to Michael Keaton and Christian Bale as The Dark Knight.
