The International Skating Union condemned the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
Russia will not be allowed to hold international figure skating competitions because of the war in Ukraine, the International Skating Union (ISU) has said.
The organization announced that the Rostelecom Cup has also been canceled.
“Until further notice, no international competitions will be held in Russia and Belarus. Consequently, the Rostelecom 2022 Figure Skating Cup will not be included in the ISU Grand Prix series of the 2022-2023 season,” the union said in a statement.
As a result, ISU is looking for another organizer to hold the competition instead of the Rostelecom Cup, which was supposed to take place at the end of November.
“The Council reaffirms its solidarity with the victims of the conflict and once again condemns the Russian invasion of Ukraine in the strongest possible terms,” the ISU said.
