Sanctions against Russian President Vladimir Putin may include a “travel ban,” White House press secretary Jen Psaki said at a briefing on Friday.

As announced by Psaki, later on Friday the United States will announce the imposition of sanctions against the President of Russia, Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and members of the National Security Council.

Answering a question about whether the “travel ban” will include sanctions against the Russian leadership, the White House spokeswoman said: “I believe that this will be part of the American sanctions.” Biden’s spokeswoman said details would be released later on Friday. Earlier, sanctions against the President of the Russian Federation and the Minister of Foreign Affairs were imposed by the UK and the EU.
