US Republican Senator Mitt Romney believes that if former US President Donald Trump decides to run again in 2024, the party will support his candidacy.

“Will the president continues to play a role in my party? I’m sure you are… I do not know if he will be nominated in 2024, but if he is, I am almost sure that he will win the nomination,”

Romney said in an interview with the New York Times.

The senator himself, in turn, said that he would not vote for Trump, as he did not vote last time.

Romney was the most opposed Republican to the former president. Earlier, the senator called the situation that occurred on January 6 in the Capitol in Washington “an uprising that was incited by the president,” and Donald Trump himself “a man with wounded pride.”
